FM Alexander Kretchetov

Alexander Kretchetov qualified for the state championship by scoring 3-1 at the SCCF Candidates. This will be his fifth state championship appearance. He was third in 2012 and tied for first in 2008.

Alex learned chess in Russia and later lived in Kuwait, where he became national champion. He has lived in California since 2002.
